一般情報
-
Sperm donation is a process where a healthy man provides semen to a sperm bank or fertility clinic for use in assisted reproduction, helping individuals or couples who cannot conceive naturally to achieve pregnancy.
-
A sperm donation agency like The Genesis Group facilitates individual matches between sperm donors and intended parents based on their unique needs and compatibility. Our focus is on empowering donors by allowing you to set your desired compensation, journey and contact preferences, and decide to whom you will donate your genetic material. We support the full process, including profile matching, appointment and travel coordination, and communication throughout your journey.
A sperm bank usually provides sperm that has already been collected and stored. Donors typically relinquish their genetic material to the bank rather than a predetermined intended parent or couple. Parents choose from a database of anonymous donors and move forward with their clinic to develop embryos.
-
Donated sperm is used by individuals facing infertility. 1 in 6 people are impacted by infertility, and assisted reproduction technologies that rely on sperm donation allow these individuals the opportunity to realize their dreams of creating a family. Single women and same-sex female couples may also utilize sperm donation to start their families.
-
Many programs allow for anonymous donation, meaning the donor's identity is kept confidential. Open or known donations, where the donor's identity is shared with recipients or offspring, are also an option. At The Genesis Group, we respect both the donor and intended parents' preferences, and we strive to facilitate open donations that allow donor-conceived children the opportunity to meet or know their donors.
-
A sperm donor provides genetic material to help individuals or couples create families. Donors must adhere to program guidelines, maintain healthy lifestyles, and commit to a donation schedule determined by the needs of their journey.
-
The process starts with a genetic and medical screening to confirm you are genetically compatible with the intended parents and can contribute a healthy, quality sample. Once approved, you will provide a semen sample at the intended parents’ clinic which is then analyzed, frozen, and stored for use in artificial insemination or IVF.

From there, our team will walk you through screening, profile approval, matching, and your sperm donation appointments.

Matching With Intended Parents
-
At The Genesis Group, you determine and set your own compensation to ensure you are confident in your donation preferences.
-
Sperm donation cycles are sometimes anonymous, but some intended parents and donors prefer more open arrangements. We’ll talk through your preferences during the application process so we only match you with families who align with your comfort level.
-
When you build your egg donor profile with The Genesis Group, you will have the opportunity to set your journey preferences including your desired level of contact with the intended parents.
If you would like to meet the parents before approving a match, we will facilitate a meeting provided all parties are comfortable doing so.
-
If you are open to travel, you may go to the intended parents’ clinic for an initial visit and the final donation. Your travel will be paid for and coordinated by your case manager around your schedule.
Compensation & Financial Questions
-
At The Genesis Group, you determine and set your own compensation to ensure you are confident in your donation preferences.
-
Yes. Your compensation is visible to intended parents during their donor search and is a factor in whether you receive match requests. We work with you to set a compensation amount you are comfortable with that will also be competitive in attracting intended parents.
-
Yes. Donors who travel to an intended parent's IVF clinic will receive reimbursements for accrued travel expenses including airfare, ground transportation, and lodging.
Common Concerns
-
No. Sperm donors waive all legal rights and responsibilities to offspring conceived using their sperm.
-
This depends on whether the donation was anonymous or open. In some cases, donor-conceived children can access the donor's identity at age 18. At The Genesis Group, we consider all sides of the donation journey and ensure we respect the donor, intended parents, and donor-conceived child.
-
Anonymity is preserved unless you choose an open donation, where your identity may be disclosed to recipients or offspring. You are assigned a Donor ID when your profile is published, protecting your identity. You determine whether to disclose your identity during the matching process.
-
You will sign contracts waiving parental rights, outlining confidentiality, and detailing compensation terms. The donor agreement covers all legal, financial, travel, personal, and other considerations as determined between you and the intended parents through our agency.
ライフスタイルとコミットメント
-
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle including a balanced diet, regular exercise, and avoiding harmful substances is essential for producing high-quality sperm. If you are currently active and physically healthy upon approval, you should not need to make any significant changes.
-
Yes. Sperm donation does not impact your fertility or ability to father children later.
-
At The Genesis Group, your donations are unique to each journey you complete. Your sperm will not be used beyond a single journey, so you will know when a child is born from your donations. Subsequent journeys require unique donations, and transparency is always ensured through our agency.
-
There are no physical risks. You may have emotional considerations about being a genetic contributor to a child. We work to ensure you are confident and comfortable with every aspect of the process, or else not move forward with you as a donor.
-
No. Donating sperm has no impact on your physical health or fertility.
-
No. Strict hygiene and medical protocols prevent any risk of infection during the donation process.
